Iranian Forces State Attack on American Facility in Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Retaliatory Strikes.

Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched missile attacks across the region in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity near the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any damage is uncertain and the United States has remained silent.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house American military installations - stated they have intercepted missiles in their air space.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

IRGC Statement

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was targeting US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on locations linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the government.

Wider Impacts

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the UAE stated that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems responded to the missiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added.

Officials reported wreckage landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.

The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
