Powerful Typhoon Approaches Vietnam Following Claiming a Minimum of 114 Lives in Philippines
Prior to making landfall in Vietnam, the storm system caused widespread destruction in the Philippines - with no fewer than 114 people dead.
Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos Jr has announced a state of calamity - the threshold of which involves numerous deaths, extensive property destruction, and halt to economic activities and everyday existence for local inhabitants.
The weather system, called in the region Tino, ripped through the heavily populated island of Cebu, inundating whole settlements and carrying vehicles down roads.
Numerous individuals of people had to be relocated, with many taking refuge in designated safe zones.

Disaster personnel have begun work while affected citizens take cover in designated safe areas.
The magnitude of this catastrophe has led to large-scale emergency response across the impacted areas.

The typhoon has displaced in excess of 400k people in the Philippines.
