Starting Lineup

Dean Henderson Not a save to make before the break until tested by an opponent's curling effort. His sliding tackle on Qazim Laci showed excellent reading of the game. 6/10

Dan Burn Always dangerous on corners and free-kicks, per usual, but may be an alternative for Stones at the back instead of alongside him. One wayward distribution after the break almost led to a goal from Albania. 6/10

The young full-back A further assured showing from the rising star following his first cap against Serbia. A teammate was unable to take full advantage of a gorgeous touch behind the opposing backline. The left-back spot is his to lose at this stage. 7/10

Adam Wharton His first start with the national team. Somewhat careless on the ball but his inswinging corners were a threat. A useful game manager available to the manager to call upon against teams who drop deep. Cautioned after a reckless challenge. 6/10

Declan Rice Crosses from corners and set-plays caused problems. Had license to drift on the left but was offside when the ball arrived in shooting positions. Awarded a deserved break on the hour mark. 6

The star midfielder Played in a high spot down the right and did plenty of dirty work. Showed flashes of quality and dragged an attempt wide. Substituted late on for Rogers, his rival, following a yellow card. 7

The winger Had England’s top opening in the opening period, his strike well saved from Thomas Strakosha. As Quansah staying deep, he was forced to stretch the play down the right side although his balls from wide areas were inconsistent. Taken off with 15 to go. Six

Harry Kane The decisive figure netting two more goals at international level. His first a typical close-range tap-in and his next a superb finish with his head after peeling away off his defender. Aged 32, he continues to improve and the side are strong contenders next summer when he's in the team. 8

The attacker Found it tough to get into the game out wide. Was presented with a good opening following a pass by Bellingham however the keeper made the save. Rashford made much more of effect after coming on. 5
